November 18, 2015

Before there was “Game of Thrones,” there was “The Lion in Winter.” In James Goldman’s modern day classic, the Plantagenet family competes to inherit a kingdom. Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, the wealthiest woman in the world, has been kept in prison since she raised an army against her husband, King Henry II.

The show runs Nov. 18-21 at Central College. Each performance is at 7:30 p.m. in Kruidenier Theatre. Tickets are $6 per adult, $3 for seniors and students, and free with Central College ID. Guests can buy tickets in Maytag Student Center, by calling 641-628-9000 or at the door — and enjoy Christmas madrigal songs by Central College Chamber Singers in the lobby. This play is recommended for mature audiences only due to adult content and language.
