Journey Scholarship Fund meets $1.4 million goal

July 23, 2013

Thanks to the generous support of donors, Central College’s Journey Scholarship Fund surpassed its goal of $1.4 million for the 2012-13 fiscal year. Helping the college reach this milestone, two anonymous alumni provided a $50,000 matching gift.

“Since joining the advancement team three months ago, I have experienced great admiration for what this group has done, and continues to do,” said Bill Northup, vice president of advancement. “We all take great pride in achieving this goal, but it is also deeply satisfying to know that we have helped hundreds of students to realize their dream of a college education at Central.”

The Journey Scholarship Fund provides alumni and friends a way to provide for students who, without financial assistance, could not afford to attend Central. The fund raised $1,445,438. Gifts to the Journey Scholarship Fund will be used for student scholarships this fall.
