Central College welcomes Jeremy Siefken ’08 as the director of student involvement and the first-year class director. He began his new position on Sept. 17.

Siefken will be responsible for creating a vision for and implementing a comprehensive campus involvement program that will support the academic mission of the college for all students. As director, he will develop, create and implement learning outcomes strategies for first-year students’ experience and success.

After graduating from Central with a degree in general studies and focus areas in political science, sociology and education, Siefken completed his master’s degree in higher education at Loyola University Chicago.

“I am excited to reconnect with Central College because I know the transformative experiences Central offers its students—in and out of the classroom, on and off campus, domestically and abroad—and I am looking forward to providing an avenue for and participating in students’ growth,” said Siefken.

During his graduate program, Siefken served as an intern for the office of the dean of students at DePaul University. He also worked with the office of first-year experience and the first- and second-year advising program at Loyola, as well as residential education and housing at St. Norbert College.

“Jeremy is an enthusiastic young professional who has gained considerable experience since he graduated,” said Peggy Fitch, vice president for student development at Central.  “He brings a strong commitment to the college and to helping students reach their highest potential.”
