Central College kicks off a campaign May 12 to support the Journey Scholarship Fund. The $50K in 50 Days Matching Gift Challenge asks alumni and friends to help the college raise $50,000 during the next 50 days toward a total goal of raising $1.5 million this year for the Journey Scholarship Fund.

A generous group of donors is challenging alumni and friends to join with them to support Central students. The donors will match gifts to Central up to $50,000. The Journey Scholarship Fund provides an opportunity for alumni and friends of Central College to assist students in achieving their goal of a Central education. The fund plays a vital role in offering financial assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to afford college.

Every gift helps, and 100 percent of all gifts received goes directly to scholarship support for students in need. The Journey Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to nearly 500 students.

Adam Haselhuhn, director of annual giving at Central College, said, “Thanks to the match, every gift is doubled. That means each gift, no matter the size, truly makes a real difference. We’re counting on the Central family to step up to the challenge and help us reach our goal.
