Mammoth bones drew Central students to a Mahaska County dig site on Sept. 27, where the college anthropology club spent most of the day excavating.
According to Dave Brenzel of the Indian Creek Nature Center in Cedar Rapids, this is the only Midwest site with multiple mammoths.
