In October, Central’s music ensembles celebrate Homecoming, and artist Rebecca Strzelec brings her 3-D printed artwork to the Mills Gallery. Plus, Theatre Central presents “The School for Husbands” and the Flying Pans Steel Band performs “ZOMBIE STEEL” for their spooky, Halloween show.

The School for Husbands

7:30 p.m. Oct. 7-10

Kruidenier Center – Main Theatre

Theatre Central presents “The School for Husbands,” a comedy about two brothers who are named guardians of orphaned girls – to raise and marry if they see fit. One gives his orphan freedom while the other seeks to control his intended wife. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for seniors/students and free with a Central ID.

Red & Blue Combos Homecoming Concert

8 p.m. Oct. 9

Douwstra Auditorium

Celebrate Homecoming 2015 with the Red & Blue Combos, directed by Gabriel Espinosa. Tickets are $5 (free with Central ID) and the proceeds will support students on future domestic and international tours. Call Cox-Snow Music Center at 641-628-5383 to reserve your seat.

Flying Pans Alumni Steel Band

12 p.m. Oct. 11

Douwstra Auditorium

The Flying Pans Alumni Steel Band performs under the direction of Stan Dahl. Admission is free and open to the public.

A Cappella Concert

1 p.m. Oct. 11

Upper Chapel

The A Cappella Choir performs, directed by Mark Babcock. Admission is free and open to the public.

Symphonic Wind Ensemble

Douwstra Auditorium

The Symphonic Wind Ensemble performs under the direction of Mitch Lutch. Admission is free and open to the public.

Oct. 21-Nov. 13

Mills Gallery

Rebecca Strzelec presents her artwork created on a 3-D printer in the latest Mills Gallery Exhibit, “Spools and Spheres.” Admission is free and open to the public.

8th & 9th Grade Bandfest

7 p.m. Oct. 22

Douwstra Auditorium

After a day of practice under the direction of Mitch Lutch, students from area middle schools and high schools perform a concert. Admission is free and open to the public.

ZOMBIE STEEL

7:30 p.m. Oct. 30-Nov. 1

Douwstra Auditorium

Celebrate Halloween with “ZOMBIE STEEL,” performed by the Flying Pans Steel Band. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors/children and free with a Central ID.
